Legendary Joe Petagno is best known for his Motörhead album covers, after all he has painted ever one of them since 1975. He is also responsible for creating the bands iconic “mascot” Snaggletooth, which has become one the most recognizable images in heavy metal history. This accomplishment is both a blessing and a curse. For over 30 years he has been creating lesser known work that is amazing, but has gone largely ignored. Joe Petagno has a a specific vision expressed through out his entire oeuvre, it is an apocalyptic, mythological, and foreboding message about how this world is heading down the path of self destruction due to greed and war.
Feral House has a published a book called Orgasmatron: The Heavy Metal Art of Joe Petagno which covers a lot of his unknown work. Finally, Joe Petagno is getting some of the respect he deserves.

Karl Persson’s work is a wonderful painterly affair showing his love for the figural. Academically rendered, a great number of his works feature human figures, mostly voluptuous nude females, in submissive and distorted positions. The audience is given the point of view of voyeur or master, the one who is subjecting these innocents to cruelty or humiliation for our collective visual pleasure.
“My intellect doesn’t come into play when I am channeling something subconsciously. There is plenty of time for interpretation after a painting is finished. Whenever I look at my finished paintings it is like analyzing a dream – deciphering my personal symbolic language.” -Karl Persson
His work is chock full of sexuality and dormant violence, it is visceral to say the least. It would make any of the “Old Masters” or S&M masters proud. Worth a deep look.

Meet Rick. A young Canadian man who has decided that he wants to live out the rest of his life as a zombie. He has spent over 24 hours of his life being tattooed on over half of his body, including his face and hands, to look like a decaying corpse. Simply amazing. He sat down with Bizarre Magazine for an interview and photo shoot that is a must see.
Have you ever thought about having the tip of your nose removed?
Yes, and I’ve seen it before on TV. This guy had a flesh-eating disease and he was able to get his nose cut off because they gave him a prosthetic replacement. I was so jealous. I wanted it so bad. If I get my eyes blacked in I’ll get my nose removed. - An except from the interview.
