The Wish (part 2)

“Erect in defiance of God’s will” is quoted on illustrator James Geiger’s MySpace page. Originally spewed out of the mouth of comedian Patton Oswalt on the Conan O’Brien show, it takes on more resonance when viewed next to Geiger’s work. Denizens of the underworld, including several demons of the Goetia, make their appearance and perform vile acts of desecration in his paintings. With this kind of subject matter I wonder if the phrase should be taken literally. Worth a look.
